Is Jesus Christ God or the Son of God?

By Xie Wen, Japan

Editor’s Note: Many believers think that the Lord Jesus is God’s Son, but is that understanding in line with the word of God? Is the Lord Jesus actually the Son of God or God Himself? Keep reading to find out.

Recently, as a Bible study group was about to wrap up, Sister Li, a coworker, asked this question: “The Bible records, ‘And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, see, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting on Him: And see a voice from heaven, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased’ (Matthew 3:16–17). And when the Lord Jesus prayed, He would often say ‘God the Father,’ so we’ve come to believe in our hearts that there is a God the Father in heaven and the Lord Jesus is God’s Son. But in my devotionals a few days ago, I saw that the Lord Jesus said, ‘I and My Father are one’ (John 10:30). And in the Scripture, Philip asks the Lord to show them the Father, and the Lord Jesus’ response is, ‘Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known Me, Philip? he that has seen Me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father? Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?’ (John 14:9–10). It stands to reason that the Son is the Son and the Father is the Father, so how could They be one? Is the Lord Jesus actually God Himself or is He God’s Son?” I and the other coworkers there all gave serious thought to these passages, but we weren’t sure what to say, so we called the meeting to a close.

What Does God Imply Us in Amos 8:11 by Mentioning the Church’s Desolation in the Last Days?

the Bible, Jehovah, the last days, wise virgins, the Holy Spirit

By Qiulin

Editor’s Note: Do you know why the faith of many believers has grown cold and why they cannot feel the presence of God when praying? It is because the spiritual famine that Amos 8:11 prophesies in the Bible appears. Are you eager to know what we should do to end the spiritual famine? Please read this article carefully and you’ll find the answer.

A gust of autumn wind blew through, sweeping up the fallen leaves in the yard. Sitting by the window, I frowned and pondered over these verses, “Behold, the days come … that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of Jehovah” (Amos 8:11), and “And also I have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city: one piece was rained on, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered” (Amos 4:7). It can be seen from these verses that God will cause famine to befall the religious world when His followers all deviate from His way and no longer obey His words. That is to say, the desolation of the church is ordained by God, but what is God’s intention behind that? And what inspiration can we people of the last days gain? With this in mind, I came before the Lord, prayed and sought to Him. After I consulted the Bible and some spiritual books, the riddle in my heart was finally solved.

False Demonstrations Against Refugees Continue in Korea, Hackers Try to Stop Bitter Winter

Christian, Human Rights, Religious Freedom, churches, Religious Persecution

While Chinese agents, hired thugs and anti-cultists stage false “spontaneous demonstrations” and abuse refugees, hackers launch a massive attack against the website of Bitter Winter, obviously trying to prevent its reporting of the events in Korea.

The Church of Almighty God (CAG), the largest Christian new religious movement in China, is banned there by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and subject to violent persecution, with several instances of torture and extra-judicial killings documented by independent NGOs. Hundreds of its members have escaped to South Korea, where they are seeking asylum.

One month ago, Bitter Winter disclosed a secret CCP document detailing a plan to harass CAG refugees in South Korea, by recruiting with threats and coercion some of their relatives in China and bringing them to Korea to demonstrate, with the help of Korean anti-cultists. On August 31, Bitter Winter reported that the secret plan was being executed. Prepared by incendiary articles by Ms. O Myung-ok (吴明玉), a Korean pro-Chinese anti-cultist, relatives of CAG refugees were taken to South Korea from China together with Chinese agents, while Ms. O recruited anti-cultists from Christian churches. The latter’s number was minimal and, in order to stage credible “spontaneous demonstrations,” Ms. O had to recruit also local thugs who work as “professional demonstrators” for a fee.

The Word of the Spirit of God | "Do You Know? God Has Done a Great Thing Among Men"

Almighty God says, "This time, God comes to do work not in a spiritual body but in a very ordinary one. Not only is it the body of God’s second incarnation, but also the body in which God returns. It is a very ordinary flesh. In Him, you cannot see anything that is different from others, but you can receive from Him the truths you have never heard before. This insignificant flesh is the embodiment of all the words of truth from God, that which undertakes God’s work in the last days, and an expression of the whole of God’s disposition for man to come to know. Did you not desire greatly to see the God in heaven? Did you not desire greatly to understand the God in heaven? Did you not desire greatly to see the destination of mankind? He will tell you all these untold secrets, and He will even tell you of the truths that you do not understand. He is your gate into the kingdom, and your guide into the new age."

Intro
The facts are that God'll use
the Way, all His words,
to rule the whole universe,
conquer humans.

Verse 1
The Holy Spirit gives people a feeling.
People are steadfast
in their hearts and at peace
after reading the words of God
they're given,
while those who do not get
His words feel empty.
Such is God's words' power,
and people must read them.
After reading them,
they are nourished, have strength.
Not reading leaves them limp;
reading makes them well.
This is God and His word
reigning on earth.

2 Major Reasons Why God Allowed Job to Suffer

God’s will, God’s work, God’s words, believe in God, The Bible

By Li Zhi

I believe that everyone knows well the story of Job. When his property was all taken away, his servants were murdered and his children had their lives taken, Job still revered God and shunned evil and didn’t sin with his tips. Moreover, he said a famous saying that cowed Satan, “Jehovah gave, and Jehovah has taken away; blessed be the name of Jehovah” (Job 1:21). No matter whether God gave or took away, Job praised God’s holy name and willingly obeyed in the presence of God, creating a beautiful and resounding testimony for God. But Satan was not yet convinced and it continued to attack Job, causing him to be covered in sores. Despite this, Job still didn’t abandon God. The Bible records, “And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself with; and he sat down among the ashes. Then said his wife to him, Do you still retain your integrity? curse God, and die. But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips” (Job 2:8–10). The testimony of Job is worthy enough to be admired and emulated by the later generations. I really liked reading the Book of Job, which increased my faith, but there was one thing that I didn’t understand. God knew that Job had fear and reverence for Him and stayed away from evil, so why did God allow Satan to tempt Job and subject him to such great suffering? What is God’s will in this matter? Recently, through reading a book, I came to understand a little about God’s will …

2019 Christian Video "God's New Name" | When the Lord Returns, Will He Still Be Called Jesus? (Skit)

Christian Inspirational Video | "God's New Name" | When the Lord Returns, Will He Still Be Called Jesus? (Skit)

Xu Xin is a house church worker who is always enthusiastically seeking and yearns for the Lord's return. One day, her niece testified to her that when the Lord returns He will take a new name and only those that accept God's new name will be caught up before God's throne. She based this testimony on the following prophecy from Revelation: "Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, … and I will write on him My new name" (Revelation 3:12). Xu Xin, however, believes that Jesus' name will never change and that when the Lord returns He will still be called Jesus. This led the two of them to enter into a debate. What was the outcome of their debate? Will the Lord really take a new name upon His return? Watch the skit God's New Name to find out.

Persecution of Chinese Refugees of The Church of Almighty God in South Korea Should Not Start Again

asylum seekers, religious persecution, Church, Chinese Christian, Religious Freedom

That The Church of Almighty God (CAG) is heavily persecuted in China, with thousands of arrests and many documented cases of torture and extra-judicial killings, is now an established fact, recognized inter alia by official United Nations and U.S. State Department documents. Hundreds of CAG members have escaped to South Korea, where they are seeking refugee status.
