“I Refused to Go to Seoul”: One Relative Exposes the CCP’s Plot

On July 22, coerced or manipulated relatives of The Church of Almighty God refugees will stage false “spontaneous demonstrations” in Korea. But some relatives refused to go.

Bitter Winter is following closely the CCP’s plot to prevent refugees from The Church of Almighty God (CAG) from obtaining asylum in Korea and have them deported back to China. As we reported, the CCP is continuing to harass China-based relatives of the CAG refugees who live in South Korea—coercing, inciting, and luring them to travel to South Korea to take part in false “spontaneous demonstrations” and protests, in an effort to have the CAG refugees arrested and sent to China.

Press Conference on July 22 of 2019 Given by The Church of Almighty God, a Religious Group Persecuted in China

1. Speeches at the press conference
2. Witnesses telling their story as victims: Xiao Rui and Zhao Lin
Speech on the Press Conference Held by The Church of Almighty God, a Religious Group Persecuted in China

“The Chinese government’s religious persecution is true. We are the witnesses of this fact: we were tortured and detained, and we fled here for freedom. The CCP government should immediately stop the persecution of Christians, and stop its despicable acts of using our family members to incite Korean media to make false propaganda. ”

1.In recent years, the CCP is persecuting all religious faiths, with its suppression of Christianity including Catholicism reaching a peak. Even the state-approved Three-Self churches are not spared: Church buildings were demolished, a large number of crosses were removed, and countless Christians were dispersed and left without a gathering place—many crying and making prayers on the ruins of their meeting venues. Due to their rapid growth, some house churches were condemned as “xie jiao” and subsequently suppressed and banned. CCP’s propaganda uses rumors and slanders to portray these churches as “anti-social religions.” Under the comprehensive and cruel suppression of the CCP, many Christians were sentenced to prison and some were even beaten to death. In addition, countless Christians were rendered homeless, fleeing here and there. Many foreign missionaries, including those from South Korea, were arrested and deported.

False Demonstrations Against Refugees Continue in Korea, Hackers Try to Stop Bitter Winter

Christian, Human Rights, Religious Freedom, churches, Religious Persecution

While Chinese agents, hired thugs and anti-cultists stage false “spontaneous demonstrations” and abuse refugees, hackers launch a massive attack against the website of Bitter Winter, obviously trying to prevent its reporting of the events in Korea.

The Church of Almighty God (CAG), the largest Christian new religious movement in China, is banned there by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and subject to violent persecution, with several instances of torture and extra-judicial killings documented by independent NGOs. Hundreds of its members have escaped to South Korea, where they are seeking asylum.

One month ago, Bitter Winter disclosed a secret CCP document detailing a plan to harass CAG refugees in South Korea, by recruiting with threats and coercion some of their relatives in China and bringing them to Korea to demonstrate, with the help of Korean anti-cultists. On August 31, Bitter Winter reported that the secret plan was being executed. Prepared by incendiary articles by Ms. O Myung-ok (吴明玉), a Korean pro-Chinese anti-cultist, relatives of CAG refugees were taken to South Korea from China together with Chinese agents, while Ms. O recruited anti-cultists from Christian churches. The latter’s number was minimal and, in order to stage credible “spontaneous demonstrations,” Ms. O had to recruit also local thugs who work as “professional demonstrators” for a fee.

Police intervention stops further false demonstrations by CCP executives and anti-cultists harassing harmless refugees in Korea.

Bitter Winter has reported in the last few days about false “spontaneous demonstrations” organized in South Korea against The Church of Almighty God (CAG) by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) executives who came from China for this purpose, with relatives of CAG asylum seekers they had “persuaded” to join them and local anti-cultists led by pro-Chinese activist Ms. O Myung-ok. For a fortunate coincidence, the Austrian journalist Peter Zoehrer, secretary of FOREF (Forum for Religious Freedom Europe), was in Seoul for collecting material about CAG members who suffered torture in China, and was able to document and photograph the events for Bitter Winter.

The CCP harasses again the relatives of CAG refugees in Korea who live in China, luring them to travel abroad to South Korea on July 22-24 next to “search for relatives” and bring them back… to jail.

The Church of Almighty God: Persecuted At Home and Abroad

The Church of Almighty God (CAG) is the largest Chinese Christian new religious movement. Due to its rapid growth, the Church was included in the xie jiao list by the CCP in 1995 and has been heavily persecuted since. CAG members have been subjected to persecution, with frequent cases of arrests and torture. According to the recently released 2019 report of the U.S. Commission for International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), “in 2018, the Chinese government harassed and arrested thousands of followers of […] The Church of Almighty God. Many of those detained during the year—whom The Church of Almighty God estimates to be in the thousands—suffered torture and other abuses, in some cases resulting in deaths or unexplained disappearances while in custody.” According to the yearly Report on International Religious Freedom of the U.S. State Department for 2019, covering the year 2018, “The Church of Almighty God reported authorities arrested 11,111 of its members during the year,” against 9,000 from Falun Gong, the second most targeted group. “The Church of Almighty God, the document adds, reported authorities subjected hundreds of their members to ‘torture or forced indoctrination.’” Overall, the document said, “The Church of Almighty God reported authorities subjected 525 of its members to ‘torture or forced indoctrination’ during the year. The Church also reported members suffered miscarriages after police subjected them to ‘torture and abuse’ in detention facilities.”

Saying “No” to CCP Tyranny: Canadian Multi-ethnic Communities Demand a Stop to Human Rights Abuses

The international community has recently had its eyes on the arrests of Canadian citizens in China, with a report referring to the CCP’s actions as similar to a bandit “taking a hostage.” The Canadian government confirmed on January 3 that since the arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, a total of 13 Canadian citizens have been arrested in China. On January 4, a coalition of representatives from multi-ethnic Canadian communities held a demonstration and a march in front of the Chinese Consulate in Toronto demanding that the CCP immediately release arrested Canadian citizens, shut down their concentration camps, and stop their human rights abuses.

ISHR Annual Meeting Spotlights Persecution of Religious Belief in China

🌳🌳🌳 Thoughts after reading:🌳🌳🌳

We feel sad for their sufferings and also admire their faith and testimony, and are encouraged and resolved to head to righteousness and follow God to the end. At the same time, we detest and reject those devils who persecute them. Let's pay attention to their suffering and pass the positive energy!

In Recent years, the situation of the religious freedom in China has been worsening. More and more Christians have been forced to flee to other countries to seek political asylum because of being unable to bear the CCP government’s persecution. As the true facts of their persecution by the CCP are gradually being known by the world, some international human rights organizations start to give them attention and appeal for their status. From April 6 to 7, 2018, an annual meeting of the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) was held at Gustav-Stresemann-Institut in Bonn, Germany. The theme of this annual meeting was “Focusing on the humanitarian situation and religious freedom in the Middle East.” Some human rights activists, religious figures and representatives of persecuted Christians were invited to participate in this meeting. During the meeting, some speakers discussed the situation of the religious persecution in China. The Church of Almighty God (CAG) Christians, as invited guests, also gave speeches, and introduced the main measures the CCP has applied to cruelly suppress and persecute the CAG, which aroused the attention of some participants.

International Society for Human Rights Condemns the CCP's Violations of Human Rights

International Society for Human Rights Condemns the CCP's Violations of Human Rights | Eastern Lightning

For years, the issue of worsening human rights in China has drawn the international community's concerns and vigorous denouncement. On December 7, 2017, the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR), headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, held a news conference in Cologne on the Current Situation of Human Rights in China. Those invited to attend the forum were experts concerned about the human rights situation in China, representatives of persecuted groups in China, the press corps and so on. The Church of Almighty God, which has been subject to brutal suppression and persecution for years by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has gained the understanding and support of increasingly more international organizations recently. At the press conference, Christians of The Church of Almighty God addressed the audience as victims of persecution. ISHR expressed that the purpose for convening the press conference was to inform the international press corps of the dire human rights situation in China currently, while stressing that China is the country with the most serious human rights violations in the world, and China’s ruling party, the Chinese Communist Party, has committed the most serious crimes against human rights in China.
