Oh God!
Though I've endured hundreds of trials,
and though I've even come close to death,
it's allowed me to truly know You,
and supreme salvation I've obtained.
If Your judgment and Your discipline,
if Your chastisement departed from me,
then I would be living in darkness,
under Satan's domain I would be.
Oh God! I implore You.
Don't take my greatest comforts away;
just a few words of comfort are great.
For I've enjoyed Your love,
and from You, I can't part,
how could I not love You all the way?
