There are many people in the world who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and Christianity has also spread all over the world. However, as for what exactly a church is and what Christianity is, those who haven’t experienced God’s work cannot explain them clearly. Therefore, only by researching God’s appearance and work can we understand how a church arose and how Christianity was formed.
How was Christianity formed?
What is Christianity? Christianity is made up of those who believe that Jesus is Christ and the son of the only true God. As is known to all, Christianity was produced by the appearance and work of the Lord Jesus two thousand years ago. The Lord Jesus is the incarnate God and Christ, so all churches that believed in the Lord Jesus came to form Christianity, which is to say, all churches that believe in Christ belong to Christianity.
Based on the records of the Bible, Christianity was born in the Levant region in the first century A.D., originally a religion of the Jewish people. Christianity believes that the heavens and earth and all things are created and dominated by God and that He also created mankind. However, since Adam and Eve, mankind’s ancestors, were corrupted by Satan because of eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, man has been living in sin. So, in order to save mankind, God did the work of the law of the Old Testament, proclaiming laws and commandments to guide man’s lives and so that man could know what sin is. As long as man acted according to these laws and commandments, they could gain God’s blessings; instead, if they betrayed God’s laws and commandments, they would receive the fitting punishment. During the later period of the Age of Law, man was incapable of keeping the laws and so faced the danger of being executed by the law. But God loves the world, so in order to redeem mankind, He personally incarnated amongst man to save them and Jesus Christ is God incarnated in the flesh. In the year of our Lord, the Virgin Mary delivered the Lord Jesus through the conception of the Holy Spirit in Judea of the Roman Empire. The Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem and grew up in Nazareth. He was baptized at the age of twenty-nine, and then started to preach and spread the gospel of the heavenly kingdom. He said, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). During the time of His preaching, the Lord Jesus also did lots of miracles. After three years, because of the accusations of the Jewish priests, He was nailed to the cross in Jerusalem on the order of the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate. Yet it was just the fulfillment of the purpose of the Lord Jesus’s coming among man in person—through His crucifixion, He served as an eternal sin offering for mankind, which is to say, He redeemed mankind forever. And three days after His death, the Lord Jesus was resurrected and appeared before His disciples for forty days. After that, He ascended to heaven and sat at the right hand of God. In the last days, the Lord Jesus will return with glory and judge the quick and the dead. Those who believe in Him will not perish, but will receive everlasting life and whoever does not believe in Him will forever sink into perdition.
Recently, I discovered a new church on the internet—The Church of Almighty God, which calls itself the contemporary Christian church. Lots of people are talking about this church on the internet and many experts and scholars are investigating and paying attention to the church. In October, 2018, some western scholars gathered in Seoul for The Church of Almighty God’s premiering photo exhibit to understand its origin and development. This church has produced a lot of movies, videos, choirs and so on. Then, does The Church of Almighty God belong to Christianity? With this question, I opened its website—the Gospel of the Descent of Kingdom.
From the introduction to the origin and development of The Church of Almighty God, it can be seen that this church believes in Almighty God, Christ in the last days. Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus and also the incarnate God. Therefore, those who believe in Almighty God are believing in Christ and so The Church of Almighty God is of course even more so a part of Christianity. The appearance and work of Almighty God have fulfilled the biblical prophecies: “For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:27). “Therefore be you also ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man comes” (Matthew 24:44). “Because He has appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He has ordained” (Acts 17:31). “And has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man” (John 5:27). “For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son” (John 5:22). Almighty God used the image of the Son of man to appear to mankind and to do His work of judgment that begins with God’s family. Therefore, believing in Almighty God is believing in Christ, and The Church of Almighty God is the Christianity in the current age. We all know that all churches that believe in Christ are Christianity, whereas those that believe in some vague God up in heaven are not. The Lord Jesus and Almighty God are the two incarnations of God; therefore, the churches that believe in the Lord Jesus or in Almighty God belong to Christianity. The difference between them is that The Church of Almighty God and Christianity, which believes in the Lord Jesus, are churches that came into being because of the work of God in different ages. Christianity is the Christian church of the Age of Grace, and they believe in the Lord Jesus, the first Christ. They hold on to God’s redemptive work from the Age of Grace, they pray to the Lord Jesus, the name of God in the Age of Grace, and they practice what the Lord Jesus required of man in the Age of Grace. The Church of Almighty God is the Christian church of the Age of Kingdom, they accept the work of judgment in the last days performed by the returned Lord Jesus, Almighty God, they pray to the new name taken by God in the Age of Kingdom, they accept the watering and supply given by the Christ of the last days Himself, and they read the newest utterances of Almighty God in the last days. Because the incarnated Almighty God began His new work when He came to earth, the Lord Jesus’s work of the Age of Grace was therefore already finished. Those who are still believing in the Lord Jesus and awaiting His return with the clouds to bring them to heaven are the ones who are believing in a vague God. In the last days, only Almighty God has appeared and works on earth; therefore, only believing in Almighty God is believing in Christ incarnate and is believing in the practical God on earth.
Thus we know that those in the last days who believe in the Lord Jesus are holding onto the Christianity of a bygone era; only the church that believes in the Christ of the last days, Almighty God, is the contemporary Christianity, the true Christianity.
